Nike, Global Director of Sports Marketing (1993 to 2012)

Spent approximately 19 years in global sports marketing, building athlete identification and sponsorship systems at the highest level of international sport.

  • Created and developed the Nike Junior Tour, an international junior tennis platform.
  • Career highlights include early talent identification and Nike sponsorship work involving Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Maria Sharapova and Carlos Moyá.
  • Developed a scouting philosophy built around recognising potential before an athlete becomes globally established.

Football Center of Excellence & NEXTGEN Academy

Transferred elite sport scouting and development principles into football and academy environments.

  • CEO of the Football Center of Excellence in Mijas, Málaga, focused on high performance youth development, training and pathways.
  • Owner/operator of NEXTGEN Academy Málaga, extending sports training networks between Spain and the United States.

Goal 4 Africa

Applied an international sports network to social impact work around football and education.

  • Served as a core initiator of Goal 4 Africa in 2008.
  • Helped organise the Allianz Arena charity match involving players such as Kaká, Didier Drogba, Fabio Cannavaro and Michael Essien.
  • The initiative connected football, fundraising and education focused social impact in Africa.

NEXTGEN Foundation & Africa pathways

Now applies long term talent identification principles to football development between Europe and Africa.

  • Primary initiator of NEXTGEN Foundation.
  • Develops grassroots academy relationships and player pathways across countries including Gambia, Ghana, Guinea and Kenya.
