For many talented young African players, the first barrier is not ability. It is access to a credible environment where their football can be evaluated properly.
International travel, visa requirements and the cost of attending trials can make the traditional route difficult for players and families with limited resources. NEXTGEN wants to help move more of the evaluation process closer to the talent.
Bring the evaluation closer to the player
The long term aim of the NEXTGEN Africa Team is to bring selected players into a stronger training and match environment in Africa, where credible international scouts and football decision makers can evaluate them directly.
Evidence before promises
- Full match footage so the player can be evaluated beyond highlights
- Highlight video as a useful introduction, not the only evidence
- Clear player information, football history and current club or academy context
- Repeated observation where possible instead of one moment deciding everything
- Development feedback when a player is not yet ready for the next level
A pathway, not a guaranteed trial
Applying to NEXTGEN does not guarantee selection, a European trial, a visa or a professional contract. The purpose is to create a more credible pathway from identification to development, evidence and the right next opportunity.
